The Power of Replenishment

Replenishment isn’t a luxury - it’s essential for growth. Learn how to recognize what refuels you and use The Paterson Replenishment Cycle to establish rhythms that sustain your energy, focus, and impact.

Great leaders lead themselves really well – they understand there’s a time and a place to refuel and replenish. What puts fuel in your tank?

We’re thinking here not only about the physical, but also the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. Don't think of this as a selfish practice – these are thoughtful activities that help you to be more productive, more creative, and more engaged with people and projects in all domains of your life.

This is you... working on YOU.

There are Four Types of Replenishment

Practices that cultivate health in our physical body.

Practices that cultivate mental health and expand our intellectual thinking, knowledge, and understanding.

Practices that cultivate healthy emotional awareness and engagement.

The spiritual aspect of our being, where our core values and beliefs are cultivated and strengthened.

What refuels you?

Many of our replenishment activities address one or more of the elements of replenishment. For example, a nature-walk twice a week addresses the physical aspect of replenishment. Add reflective music or an audio book and one can feel emotionally and spiritually renewed as well with the walk.

Replenishers are specific to each person. It is what you do or want to do to cultivate personal health and renewal.

Take a minute to list
all of the replenishers you can think of that have worked for you, or might work for you. Four or five replenishers are ideal.

Ask yourself these questions:

What am I currently doing that I want to keep doing?

What have I done in the past that I want to restart?

What have I heard about from someone else that I might want to try?

Take the next step

Schedule, prioritize, and commit to making these a part of your rhythms.
